Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding, we have many years’ experience in coordinating and creating distinct and memorable occasions, and we are ready to take the stress and strain out of this key moment in your journey so far.
We hope to guide you through the preparation for your day, suggesting menus, canapés, wine list, accommodation packages and advice on civil ceremonies.
Civil Marriage & Partnership Ceremonies
It’s up to you whether your guest list is 20 or 60 of your nearest and dearest, we can tailor an experience which blends style, romantic charm and individuality with a memorable meal and stay.
Grassington House is licenced to hold civil marriage and partnership ceremonies, which are performed by the Registrars from nearby Skipton.

Up to 12 months prior to the wedding date, you should visit your local Registration Office to give your Notice of Intention to Marry.

It’s your wedding and you can personalise your ceremony throughout with live music or by providing us with your playlist. There are also opportunities for readings, and copies of these need to be given to the Registrar in advance, along with your choice of music.

Menu Selection
We appreciate that choosing a menu can be a challenging task, with so many different tastes and needs to accommodate. As part of your wedding experience at Grassington House, we invite you to sample your wedding menu choices.
You are in the very capable hands of owners Sue Rudden and Executive Chef John Rudden, who have a lifetime of experience, and will assist you in anchoring your day with dishes that will tickle even the most discerning taste buds.
The Bride & Groom are invited to sample their wedding menus as part of their package. Please book this Monday – Thursday, two to three months in advance of the day and with 14-days’ notice of the preferred date.
Accommodation can be reserved on a Bed & Breakfast rate.
Stay the Night
Our nine award-winning rooms are individually styled and decorated using sumptuous furnishings and fittings, each with surprising and luxurious touches. They are the perfect choice for your wedding night, and for some of your guests.
The Bridal Suites, either The Square Room with views over the cobbled village square, or Number 6 with its fantastic chandelier, are reserved for you as part of your wedding package, and your guests might enjoy the glamour of Number 10, or the tranquillity of the White Room.
All rooms have Fairtrade coffees and teas, bottled mineral water, Sedbergh Soap Co toiletries, and waffle bathrobes.
Please see our current brochure or our website for room rates. All rooms will be provisionally held for three months from the time of booking and a 50% deposit is required to secure each room reservation.
The cancellation policy for room reservations is a full refund up to 14 days before your arrival date. If you cancel within 14 days and we can re-sell the room, you will receive a full refund of your deposit. If we cannot sell the room, we will not refund the deposit.

What Happens Next…..
Following your viewing of the house, a date can be provisionally held for a maximum of four weeks. This will allow the opportunity for you to check the availability of the Church or Registrar. After this time, the date should either be confirmed or released
To confirm your wedding date, we request a non-refundable deposit of £2,000.

Exclusivity from 12 noon for the Ground Floor Areas & 3pm for the bedrooms on the day of arrival to 11am on the day of departure
EXCLUSIVITY INCLUDES
- Exclusive use of our 18th century Georgian mansion in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales including whole of the ground floor space for your guests & stunning photographs
- Complimentary wedding menu sampling for the Bride & Groom
- Complimentary Superior Bridal Suite with full Yorkshire breakfast on one night of your stay
- All house bedrooms for your guests at an agreed discounted Bed & Breakfast rate, based on two people sharing each evening based on all rooms being occupied. Extra discount if all rooms taken for two nights
- Wedding Co-Ordinator on hand before & during your stay
- Background Music or your own playlist uploaded on our state-of-the-art sound system
- Complimentary car parking for guests
- Free Wi-Fi
EXCLUSIVITY TERMS
- Minimum number of 40 guests required
- Minimum spend on food is £85.00 per person per night based on the three course a la carte menu with all extras charged accordingly.
Payment
Once the £2,000 deposit is settled, there is no further payment required until four weeks prior to your wedding day, when 85% of the total cost should be paid. Final numbers are taken four days prior to you wedding day, and the final amount can be settled on departure.
Payment can be made either by BACS, cash or by debit card. We are unable to accept credit card payments for wedding accounts.
You will have regular communication and updates in the lead up to your wedding, ensuring you approve the menu and drinks, together with your final number of guests.
